Transcutaneous Suture Lifts: Middle Face
摘要
Most of the advances in facelift techniques after the 1990s have been aimed at changing the aging changes of the middle face. Hamra demonstrated for the first time that the middle face improved dramatically with the deep plane facelift, which she described in 1990 (Hamra ST. Plast Reconstr Surg 86:53, 1990). In the later period, nasolabial folding and sagging problems of the malar fat pad were the first structures to be focused on, among the changes that are not addressed by the classical superficial musculo-aponeurotic system facelift techniques and which are a kind of signature for the early period of the aging middle face. In facelift procedures performed with surgical intervention, in addition to general anesthesia complications, possible complications such as infection, skin necrosis, hematomas, seromas, and injury to the facial nerve branches may occur. In addition, the long healing process and scar appearance are among its other disadvantages. Therefore, patients prefer to get the same result as a less invasive procedure and quickly return to their daily lives and work. Since the introduction of thread-lift sutures, their application has gradually spread among many cosmetic medical specialists, with the primary indication of lifting sagged tissues using a minimally invasive closed procedure. It is considered easy to apply after receiving adequate and appropriate training, and it is a relatively less invasive procedure than other surgical lift methods.
