Effects of Irritants on the Skin Barrier Morphology and Function
摘要
Skin barrier alterations play an etiological role in the development of irritant contact dermatitis (ICD). Various skin irritants, including detergents, wet work, and organic solvents, can induce a wide range of skin barrier alterations. These alterations are influenced by the intrinsic properties of the irritants, as well as by exposure conditions and individual host-related factors. In this chapter, we will address the mechanisms by which common skin irritants impact skin barrier function at both the molecular and morphological levels.
