At the end of the tenth century, in the Catalan dioceses, there were small but bold changes in the way the consecration of a church was celebrated, especially in the rite of deposition of the relics. Since the ninth century, the liturgical ordo followed in these territories was the one imposed by the Carolingian EmpireCarolingian Empire and implemented by the archbishopric of NarbonneNarbonne after the Frankish conquest. Scholars have traditionally attributed the subsequent liturgical changes to NarbonneNarbonne’s influence, due to the alleged dioceses’ dependence towards their metropolitan. However, the study of the Romanesque altar reliquaries, called lipsanoteques, changes that interpretation. This paper intends to confront liturgical manuscripts with material remains to shift the focus from this liturgical centre to the peripheries.

摘要
