Good Practices in Vocational Rehabilitation of the Workforce with Autism Spectrum Disorder
摘要
Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are a heterogeneous group. Like all people, their characteristics, identities, personal situations, and needs are shaped by multiple factors. Their neurodevelopmental characteristics are just another dimension of these factors. Many young adults with ASD face a difficult period and uncertainty as they transition from adolescence to adulthood, especially in the area of obtaining and maintaining competitive employment. The main objective of this chapter is to emphasize the necessity of creating a culture of inclusivity in the work environment. Moreover, it’s of great importance to identify the benefits of hiring people with ASD and the good practices of supporting the workforce with ASD.
