This chapter explores the feasibility and effectiveness of blockchain technology in enhancing traceability within food supply chains, specifically focusing on Kashar cheese production. By leveraging the Hyperledger platform and employing an exploratory research methodology, the study aims to design a conceptual blockchain model tailored to address the unique challenges and requirements of the cheese supply chain, promising to revolutionize stakeholder interactions, information sharing, and collaboration. The dairy foods industry plays a crucial role in global food supply chains, with Kashar cheese facing traceability challenges despite its economic significance. Further research is needed to address limitations and challenges of the proposed blockchain model, including practical testing, coverage expansion, adoption challenges, and exploring alternative blockchain platforms for scalability, applicability, and sustainability in food supply chains.
