The Impact of Industry 4.0 Technologies on Efficiency, Transparency, and Resilience in Global Supply Chains
摘要
Currently, the rapid advancement of Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI, blockchain, IoT, and big data analytics, is causing a substantial transformation in global supply chains. These advanced technologies are transforming supply chain operations by improving efficiency, transparency, and resilience, as this chapter examines. For instance, the implementation of blockchain technology improves traceability and accountability in intricate supply chains, while the Internet of Things (IoT) enables the continuous collection and monitoring of data in real time, thereby enabling proactive decision-making and predictive analytics. Furthermore, operational optimisation and cost reduction are facilitated by AI and machine learning. The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasised the urgent necessity of supply chains that are both adaptable and strong, which has led to a wider adoption of these technologies to mitigate disruptions and adjust to changing demands. Employing a systematic literature review, the chapter investigates the effects of Industry 4.0 on global supply chain management. The potential for digital transformation is immense, providing supply chain managers with valuable insights to encourage more sustainable and resilient networks, even though challenges remain, including the need for skilled professionals and high implementation costs.
