Figures 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 are drawn from the She’s So Sweet exhibition, comprising 16 staged photographs. It called for a rethinking of feminism’s mantra that ‘women can have it all’, inspired by Virginia Hausegger’s 2005 book Wonder Woman. The photographs are parodies of the many roles women have come to play: corporate climber, breadwinner, mother, housewife, prom queen, and sex kitten. In making the works, I wanted to promote further dialogue around carers’ roles and social ideals of success, prosperity, and balance.
