The aim of this chapter is to highlight ways of promoting and strengthening the international dimension in the research activities of higher education institutions, particularly in the African context. The discussion is based on the articulation of the professional experiences and a few examples of academic work to which they can be linked. The experts identify the particular needs and obstacles of scientific research in Africa. A comparative Europe-Africa approach is discussed. The experts provide examples of structures that can promote the success of international research, particularly in Africa. Finally, economic players and academics need to co-construct research networks (with a view to the future) in order to stimulate and promote international research in general.
