There is a growing transformation from the conventional system of healthcare towards modern approach anticipated by smart technologies, specifically as an Internet of Medical Things (IoMT ). In this chapter, we discussed the importance of integrating smart technology in smart cities for a sustainable and advanced form of healthcare referred to as healthcare 5.0. Mobile health applications and wearable health technologies also enhance the support of patients since they enable patient engagement and self-management of health. In addition, IoMT provides solutions for planning and management of the medicalcare facilities and resources to render more efficient services. More research work is needed in the areas of data protection, handling, and management of different types of devices and systems, and the need to overcome the interoperability challenges. Mitigating these challenges will therefore enable the achievement of a higher standard of healthcare 5.0 with the desired goal of achieving a sustainable and efficient healthcare system for smart cities.
