The construction of national eco-industrial demonstration parks is a crucial initiative for China to promote regional green development, advance ecological civilization, and achieve harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. This paper employs national eco-industrial demonstration parks as a quasi-natural experiment and uses panel data from 284 Chinese cities spanning 2007 to 2021 to empirically examine the relationship between the construction of these parks and urban green total factor productivity (GTFP). The results indicate that the establishment of national eco-industrial demonstration parks significantly enhances urban GTFP by improving green technological innovation, driving industrial structure upgrades, and raising human capital levels. This study provides valuable insights for the green transformation of industrial parks, the formulation of more effective environmental policies, and the promotion of high-quality economic development.
