Endocrine emergencies represent a critical subset of acute medical conditions requiring rapid diagnosis and immediate intervention to prevent severe morbidity or mortality. This chapter explores five major endocrine emergencies: thyroid storm, hypertensive crisis due to pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma, adrenal crisis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and hypoglycemia. Despite their varying etiologies, these conditions share common features of acute systemic decompensation and necessitate high clinical suspicion for timely management. The pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic criteria, and current evidence-based therapeutic strategies are discussed in detail for each condition. Emphasis is placed on multidisciplinary care, individualized treatment approaches, and preventive measures to reduce recurrence. Given the increasing prevalence of endocrine disorders and their complex interactions with pharmacological and physiological stressors, awareness and preparedness for these emergencies are essential for all healthcare professionals.
