Algorithmic Analysis of GTFS-RT Vehicle Position Accuracy
摘要
In this paper, I introduce three novel algorithms used for calculating geodesic intersections on an ellipsoid. Using those three algorithms, I conduct a case study via analysis of real-time transit data in California to determine the vehicle position drift of real-time data. My results show that some data anomalies could be corrected, but persist on a large scale. I suggest some relatively easy fixes that both the consumer or the producer could implement in order to increase accuracy by a substantial amount.
