The urban landscape is more fragile, and the altered land-use system becomes more hostile and a hub of exotic species through species introduction. These species, due to their wider ecological amplitude and wider ecological adaptation become invasive by excluding the indigenous flora of the region. Urban expansion leads to the destruction of local habitats and causes the loss of valuable biodiversity in addition to ecosystem functioning and services. The rapid urbanization due to population rise enhances the infrastructure and urban development, which transformed the natural landscapes. At the present time, changes in land use patterns also promote the integration of ecological invasion in the urban landscape. It was found that humans act as a potential agent for the spreading of invasive alien plant species (IAPs). Hence, the urban and peri-urban areas become highly susceptible towards the event of ecological invasion. From management perspective, the peri-urban areas should be given prior importance along with proper species selection by policymakers and decision-making people that would help to combat the ecological invasion process. The present chapter showcase the event of ecological invasion under the context of urban setup and addresses the issues of component, ecology, problem, challenges, policy and management aspects under urban setup.
