Voltage Profile and Power Loss Calculations of Radial Distribution Feeder with Possible Locations of Future Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
摘要
With the increasing prevalence of electric vehicles (EVs), the associated load is rising daily, leading to changes in voltage profiles and power losses within the distribution system. To achieve better voltage profiles and minimize losses, it’s essential to forecast EV loads and assess the strength of buses, determining the optimal locations for EV charging stations to meet future demands. In this paper Electrical Vehicle (EV) load is forecasted using Holt’s model; further, EV charging stations are placed based on comparison of Bus reliability index (BRI) and Voltage Sensitivity Factor (VSF). BRI is calculated using Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and VSF is calculated using backward forward load flow analysis. The two equal rated charging stations to satisfy the forecasted EV load for the next seven years placed at various possible locations of distribution system and the ideal site for charging stations is recommended after the corresponding voltage profile and power losses are computed and compared for multiple potential locations. An IEEE33 standard test bus system is used for this study.
