A Comprehensive Analysis of Short Circuit Current in Marine Power System
摘要
Any electrical power system is designed to operate safely and reliably. Designing the electrical system against short circuits is of utmost importance to attain this. Marine systems are expected to perform without halting the essential services and providing hazard-free services to personnel and equipment. This paper estimates the short circuit currents for ship power systems using MiPower software. To understand comprehensively, the short circuit is estimated separately for the ship operating in cruise mode, anchored mode and an emergency condition. The Real-time parameters are employed to achieve the required results. The arc flash current and incident energy are also obtained to understand the safe operating distance.
