To investigate the elastic–plastic properties of cables under tensile loading, amplitude-increasing cyclic loading tests were conducted on three cable specimens at room temperature, obtaining the stress–strain curves under cyclic loading. By analyzing the mechanical parameters of the elastic–plastic performance of cables, the influence of loading methods on elastic–plastic properties was studied. Results show that after amplitude-increasing cyclic loading, cables exhibit significant plastic elongation and stiffness degradation, which may affect the load-bearing capacity of cable structures.
