Assessment is one of the most common tasks teachers perform from the early stages of their professional development. This chapter highlights the uniqueness of learners’ assessment in the case of computer science education; it does not address teachers' assessment, which can be performed by either teachers' reflective processes and by the peers’ or learners’ feedback. The chapter emphasizes the message that assessment is not a target by itself, but rather, a pedagogical means by which (a) teachers improve their understanding of the current knowledge of their learners and (b) learners get feedback related to their own understanding of the learned subjects. The chapter delivers the message that the theme of assessment can be discussed in the MTCS course on different occasions, for example, concerning learners’ alternative conceptions, project-based learning (including the assessment of soft skills), and types of questions. The chapter also emphasizes the importance of innovating and diversifying the assessment approach. The main topics addressed for assessment in computer science education are an exam, a project, and a portfolio. We end the chapter by addressing the assessment of the students enrolled in the MTCS course.

摘要
