This chapter introduces this Guide. It explores the motivation for writing this fourth edition of the Guide of Teaching Computer Science, which among many options, can serve as a textbook for the Methods of Teaching Computer Science (MTCS) course. We present the structure of the Guide, the MTCS course, and how the Guide can be used in different frameworks of computer science education. We highlight that the varied topics and teaching methods presented in this Guide can serve computer science educators at all levels and educational frameworks.
