Many of the problems we solve in the thermal sciences involve the application of one of the three laws: the conservation of mass, Newton’s second law,* and the first law of thermodynamics. This chapter focuses on the conservation of mass and the first law of thermodynamics, with minor emphasis on Newton’s second law. The first law of thermodynamics is simply an accounting of the energy that flows into and out of a system and its accumulation.

摘要

Many of the problems we solve in the thermal sciences involve the application of one of the three laws: the conservation of mass, Newton’s second law,* and the first law of thermodynamics. This chapter focuses on the conservation of mass and the first law of thermodynamics, with minor emphasis on Newton’s second law. The first law of thermodynamics is simply an accounting of the energy that flows into and out of a system and its accumulation.
