Automated Control System of Power Transformers Cooling Located on RES

Installed capacity of renewable energy system is increased every day, and this trend will be kept in few decades. Renewable energy systems (for example photovoltaic power stations) would be installed as close to the consumer as possible to decrease the transmission power losses and to limit the influence on environmentair flow cooling the radiators of power oil transformers to respect the needs of RES on the transformer. This approach is based on forced and controlled blowing of the radiator. The system detects the temperature changes in the upper oil layers in the RES transformer tank. The control system is built on the platform of standard programmable logic controller to decrease the initial and purchasing costs. The optimization aims to increase the efficiency of RES operation and to prolong electrical stations and substations equipment lifecycle.
