Organizational research has begun to voice doubts about whether projects—as they are described in classic project management textbooks—really ever took place in the reality of organizations. It has been suggested that the descriptions of projects given in management textbooks are merely material for the display side of organizations, thereby maintaining the suggestion that it is possible to plan, predict and control projects.
