This chapter introduces key carbon (C) farming techniques that help capture and store C in agricultural systems while supporting soil health and productivity. It covers agroforestry, cover cropping, conservation agriculture, crop rotation, and biochar application. For each technique, the chapter explains how practice works, followed by a discussion of its potential to sequester C. By adopting these approaches, farmers can contribute to climate change mitigation while improving the long-term sustainability and resilience of their land.
