This chapter describes esophagectomy in prone position for dissection of the thoracic esophagus, associated with laparoscopy access and cervicotomy for the abdominal and cervical portions of the esophagus, respectively. This approach offers an improved visualization of all structures of the mid and posterior mediastinum, with the caveat of requiring further understanding of this area from a posterior approach.
