The introduction of immunotherapies in the treatment of metastatic lung cancer has brought a major change to oncology practices with a high impact on patient prognosis. As a next step, these substances are currently being tested for the use in the neoadjuvant setting, showing promise in early phase trials, such as pathological response and R0 rates. Many questions remain to be answered before this is implemented in daily practice; the according phase III trials are impatiently awaited.
