Mathematics Education Based on Thinking and Representation Skills for Refugee Students

This study explores the role of mathematics education in supporting social integration and cultural diversity for refugee students. Enriched by diverse cultural backgrounds, refugee students’ education enhances their individual development and social cohesion. Developing skills in mathematical representations, mathematical thinking, and algebraic reasoning helps refugee students overcome language barriers and understand abstract concepts. Enriched mathematics instruction tailored to various learning styles enhances learning, making abstract concepts more concrete and providing essential language support. In conclusion, emphasizing mathematical thinking, algebraic reasoning, and mathematical representations in instruction promotes academic and social success, fostering an inclusive education that supports cultural diversity.
