Technological Innovations in the Production of Knitted Uppers for Sneakers
摘要
Footwear, initially designed solely for foot protection, has evolved throughout history, gaining prominence and acquiring varied characteristics. The evolution of technology has led to the discovery of new materials and production processes, turning the piece into a fashion item consumed by all the public. The main objective of this article is to present the new technologies to produce seamless knitted uppers and compare these new technologies with the traditional processes for the production of fabric sneakers. The methodology used was a narrative literature review. Sneakers with knitted uppers produced using the new technologies are more sustainable, have a shorter production time, consume less energy, and occupy less space within footwear industries, increasing the competitiveness of companies.
