This study addresses the critical need for quality control optimization in the IT area of the pharmaceutical chains Fybeca and SanaSana, using the COBIT 5 framework as a reference. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with IT managers and quantitative surveys administered to 50 IT employees. The results identify significant gaps in staff knowledge, inefficiencies in current quality control processes, and a misalignment between operational and strategic objectives. Only 18% of employees report high familiarity with quality control procedures, while 64% believe the systems partially meet operational requirements. COBIT 5 provides a comprehensive solution for improving IT governance and management. By implementing principles such as strategic alignment and risk management, COBIT 5 facilitates the enhancement of process efficiency, resource optimization, and compliance with industry regulations. Moreover, its focus on integrating organizational goals with IT operations ensures consistency and robustness in decision-making processes. The findings highlight the importance of continuous training, regular system updates, and fostering a culture open to change to overcome resistance during implementation. This research concludes that adopting COBIT 5 will enable Fybeca and SanaSana to strengthen their IT governance, improve service quality, and ensure better alignment with their organizational objectives, thus increasing their competitiveness in the pharmaceutical sector.
