What is Driving Blockchain Adoption in the Supply Chain: A Technology-Organization-Environment Perspective
摘要
This study explores the adoption of blockchain technologies in supply chain management through the lens of the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. Blockchain, a distributed digital ledger, offers transformative potential by enhancing product traceability, reducing fraud, and increasing transparency, yet its adoption faces barriers such as technical complexity and regulatory uncertainty. Drawing on a survey of supply chain professionals, the research identifies key technological, organizational, and environmental drivers of blockchain adoption, including relative advantage, technology competence, trading partner readiness, and mimetic pressures. Findings confirm that blockchain adoption significantly improves supply chain performance and competitive advantage. The study provides actionable insights for practitioners and theoretical contributions to the TOE framework, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts across technological, organizational, and environmental dimensions to achieve successful blockchain integration and maximize its impact on supply chain and firm performance.
