This study as part of the work performed within the NavGreen project focuses on how Digital Twin (DT) technology contributes to the green transition of shipping, enabled by the sophisticated digitalization of shipping companies and maritime organizations. The paper presents an overview of the DT development tools, platforms and services and focuses on the cybersecurity aspects (challenges, risks, threats) stemming from ship DT deployment. The paper also elaborates on the DT capabilities as a cybersecurity enabling technology.
