Securing Blockchain in the Age of Quantum Computing: A Survey of Current and Future Cryptographic Approaches

Quantum Computing and Blockchain technologies are grabbing attention and are being used in integration with several other modern technologies in the areas like Mechanical Engineering, Autonomous Engineering, Healthcare, Business Analytics etc. Quantum computing is an emerging field of trailblazing Computer Science that uses quantum mechanic’s’ unique properties to solve the complex problems. It encompasses Quantum Information Processing, Quantum Sensing, Quantum Cryptography and Quantum Communication. Blockchain technology’s prospective uses in SCM, healthcare and financial services have potential to completely transform a number of industrial sectors. Integrating these technologies may result in Quantum computing-enabled Blockchain development. This Combo will implement Quantum computing algorithms that will enhance data integrity, speed of processing and security while Blockchain will allow quicker transactions and trading. Present work aims to reflect the contribution of quantum computing in enhancing safety and efficacy in combination with Blockchain across several fields. Current issues, technical challenges and ethics of integrating these technologies along with future developments are discussed profoundly with case studies.
