Green Financing and Its Role in Promoting Women’s Sustainable Development: Case Study of Europe
摘要
The chapter highlights the role of green finance in promoting the sustainable development of women in European Union member states. The European Agenda for Gender Equality, embodied in the Strategy for Gender Equality 2020–2025, emphasizes the importance of eliminating gender disparities in all areas, including employment, access to education and pay conditions. The research uses an econometric model based on statistical data collected over the period 2010–2022 at European Union level, analyzing the impact of various financial, economic and environmental indicators on female employment. The model includes variables related to green finance, economic development and gender equality indicators to assess the interactions between these indicators. The study makes an innovative contribution by integrating the gender dimension into the analysis of green finance, an approach rarely found in literature. It highlights both the opportunities and challenges that green finance policies can have on women's sustainable development and is important for policy-makers, researchers and organizations interested in social inclusion in the context of the green transition. The results of the econometric model highlight that research and development investments have a significant positive impact on women's employment rates, indicating that innovation and the transition to a green economy create employment opportunities for women. At the same time, gender pay and employment differentials play a significant role in the pattern, highlighting the need for specific public policies for inclusion in sustainable sectors.
