Breaking the Shackles and Moving Beyond Growth, Self-Reliance, and Sustainability: A Case Study on Successful Women Led Businesses
摘要
By combining social impact and profitability, women-led businesses are changing conventional business models. These companies show how societal advancement may be fuelled by economic success. Toms Shoes, which uses a “One for One” business model and donates a pair of shoes for each pair sold, is a perfect example. In a similar vein, fair trade and environmental sustainability are two ways that The Body Shop promotes ethical consumption. By striking a balance between profit and social benefits, these companies are redefining success and upending conventional corporate priorities. In developing nations, women-led businesses like SELCO India tackle urgent problems including gender inequity, poverty, and energy availability. In underprivileged rural communities, SELCO offers solar energy solutions that enhance women’s and children’s access to economic, health, and educational opportunities. By emphasising sustainable energy, it strengthens local communities and demonstrates that female entrepreneurs are capable of bringing about revolutionary change. Women-led businesses can improve community involvement by partnering with local leaders and launching awareness initiatives in order to address these issues. Women entrepreneurs can be empowered by providing mentorship and bolstering gender-inclusive legislation. Solar solutions can be more reasonably priced with the use of creative financing models like pay-as-you-go schemes. These businesses may increase their influence and promote sustainable development by utilizing technology and promoting laws that will help them. This study provides insights into overcoming obstacles faced by women entrepreneurs in emerging markets, highlighting the potential of women-led firms to change societal structures and business practices.
