Case 8: Imaging Biomarkers in Right Temporal Variant of Frontotemporal Dementia
摘要
This case report describes a 71-year-old male with right temporal variant frontotemporal dementia (rtvFTD), presenting with progressive episodic memory impairment, prosopagnosia, and mild behavioral changes. Neuropsychological testing, [18F]FDG-PET imaging, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarker analysis contributed to the diagnosis, differentiating it from other neurodegenerative conditions. [18F]FDG-PET revealed right temporal hypometabolism, while CSF biomarkers ruled out Alzheimer’s disease. This case illustrates the critical role of multimodal assessment in recognizing rtvFTD, a rare subtype of FTD with unique clinical and neuroimaging features.
