The distinction between high culture and popular or low culture is not relevant to depth of human significance. It therefore is not relevant to cultural or personal importance of meaning. It is a distinction relevant only to the very different issue of level of sophistication. As a result, it has no bearing on the definition of art or on the degree of the importance of meaning of a work of art.
