摘要
This chapter deals with one particular modality of memory recovery, namely, replacing or restoring memorials that were erected during the Second Republic and partially destroyed during Franco’s dictatorship. Recovering or restoring memorials of the Second Republic had the effect of conveying to the 1980s republican lieux de mémoire of the 1930s, which for their part referred to events and personalities related to nineteenth-century Spanish republicanism and socialism, such as Pablo Iglesias. A longue durée of a Spanish democratic tradition was thus established.
