Tuning of Conducting Polymers for Applications in Material Science
摘要
Conducting polymers has garnered much interest due to their efficient mechanical, optical, and electronic properties, electrical conductivity, and economic significance. Conducting polymers are used in diodes, transistors, artificial nerves, conducting adhesives, and electromagnetic interference shielding. Some possible uses of nanotubes and nanofibers are discussed in this chapter, including drug delivery, protein purification, neural interfaces, supercapacitors and energy storage, and actuators. This chapter also focuses on environmental remediation (adsorption of pollutants, electrocatalytic oxidation/reduction of contaminants on conducting polymer-based electrodes, and cation and anion trapping), use of 3D material, gas removal, photocatalysis, and dioxygen removal.
