This study is in response to a dramatic rise in the use of digital media. Since today’s youth spend most of their time in the digital arena—be it social media, videos, or other forms—their use of digital platforms for both consumption and manufacturing has significantly changed the historical patterns of pre- and post-purchase decisions and the overall field of consumption. Today’s digital playground has even spilled over into the public sector. It is now being used in government operations as a tool for everything from casting votes to obtaining information—both for the citizen and the nearly all-encompassing garrison that is American public administration. This study will explore how digital media have influenced the knowledge and overall awareness of government procurement. About buying stuff for the government at Umm al-Quwain State offices in the UAE, thinking about how personal opinions and their felt importance come into play.
