The Impact of Digital Media on the Speed of Transition from Traditional Work to On-Line Work During Crisis and Emergencies

Remote work is one of the models used by organizations around the world to ensure their continuity during the crisis period. In order to implement this mechanism, it was necessary to know the factors that contributed to accelerate the move to remote work. As it’s well known, Online work increased drastically since the end of 2019. Thus, the study highlighted the impact of digital media on the speed of transition from traditional to online work in the field of small and medium Bahraini insurance companies during Corona pandemic. The study used a Systematic Literature Review Method. It was concluded that the pandemic has toppled the balance of power in the global market and changed thinking, planning, and lifestyle as never seen before. Financial, human resources, and trained staff are one of the cause that helped to derive online work. In addition, digital media played an important role in this transition, leading companies to dedicate social media networks as one of the marketing tools. The study also recommended, organizations should use the digital media to promote “Hybrid method” in the good timings and not only during crisis.
