Is the Age of Artificial Intelligence Disrupting the Work-Life Balance? A Perspective from GCCs and GSCs in India
摘要
Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace has transformed the nature of work, but its impact on work-life balance remains understudied. This study investigates the relationship between AI-driven workplace factors and work-life balance. Using multiple linear regression analysis, we examined the effects of separation of personal and work life, communication and collaboration, personal time, and efficiency and productivity on work-life balance. Our analysis revealed a robust positive correlation (R = 0.828) between work-life balance and the independent variables, explaining approximately 68.5% of the variation (adjusted R-Square = 0.685). The model's statistical significance was confirmed by an F-statistic of 76.092 and a p-value of 0.0006. Notably, the separation of personal and work life emerged as the most influential factor (standardized coefficient = 1.245). This study provides conclusive evidence that AI integration in the workplace profoundly impacts work-life balance. The findings underscore the importance of implementing AI-driven solutions that promote separation of personal and work life, effective communication and collaboration, personal time management, and efficiency and productivity. Organizations can leverage these insights to create a supportive work environment that fosters employees’ well-being and productivity. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on AI's impact on work-life balance, offering valuable implications for policymakers, organizations, and individuals seeking to harness AI's benefits while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The study's findings have significant practical implications for workplace design, HR policies, and employee wellness initiatives. Although many of these questions revolve around job loss, future employment, and ongoing upskilling, none address the true fulfillment of AI's potential within such centers.
