Background and Objective: The Pearl River Delta (PRD), as a region in China where the development of corporate social work(CSW) started earlier and is more mature, has achieved a series of service results in its long-term practical exploration, but the development is still not progressing as well as it should. Method: The study obtained 625 valid questionnaires and conducted field observations and in-depth interviews with a total of 72 units of enterprises, social service organizations, and relevant government departments. Result: This study finds that the government and social work associations have not provided strong support for corporate social workers, enterprises’ willingness to purchase social services is low, employees’ willingness and conditions of participation in social services are insufficient, and the capacity of corporate social workers needs to be improved. Conclusion and recommendation: Three levels of intervention are needed in order to solve the difficulties in the practice of CSW; (1) at the macro level, the government should increase the economic input and support; (2) at the meso level, enterprises should strengthen the awareness of social responsibility and build a corporate cultural environment suitable for the development of social work, and social service organizations should improve the ability to respond to the demands of the enterprises and the problems of the employees, and strengthen the construction of the social work team; and (3) at the micro level, social workers should improve the adaptability between corporate social services and the needs of the employees, and solve the key concerns of the employees.
