Contributions of Universities in Measuring Causes, Effects, and Solution of Environmental Pollution by Plantation Activities; Critical Review
摘要
The present research states the importance of plantation activities and highlights the involvement of universities in measuring the solutions to current environmental scenarios. Higher educational institutes, especially universities, play a significant role in the development of any country. There are about 145 public sector universities in Pakistan. As the education system requires a proper environment for its quality, research also requires plants to develop sustainable habitats for a clean and green environment. The current study emphasizes the contribution of universities in mitigating the environmental impacts by different solutions especially plantation activities. The project “Clean and Green Movement” is an initiative of the Ministry of Climate Change and other educational institutes participated in this project by planting plants inside their boundary walls. Universities students also took part very effectively in this activity, by knowing the importance of trees in the environment. Thal University Bhakkar dominated this campaign at the district level by planting various trees. We analyzed university soil via different physio-chemical tests for proper growth of other plant species. This tree plantation campaign was started with the slogan “Green revolution (plantation) is the topmost solution to arrest environmental pollution.” We observed that university students are highly energetic in plantation activity if given a proper environment. It was summarized that the Ministry of Climate Change should focus on university students finding solutions to environmental issues with satisfaction. Future study shows cooperative approaches involving stakeholders, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and entrepreneurs, to ensure viable solutions.
