This article explores building a sustainable university model in Turkmenistan, focusing on the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University (ETUT) as a case study. By analyzing ETUT’s achievements, including its ranking in the 2023 UI GreenMetric World Rankings, the article offers insights into the university’s strategic initiatives and best practices for promoting sustainability. It emphasizes the importance of knowledge sharing and collaboration to enhance sustainable practices in higher education institutions in Turkmenistan and globally. The research also reviews existing literature on university sustainability, analyzes ETUT’s Green Engineering Policy and sustainable development model, and provides policy recommendations and suggestions for future research. This comprehensive analysis, informed by the ETUT case study, aims to contribute to the advancement of sustainable practices within academic institutions worldwide.
