Traumatic injuries can occur from a singular acute event or over extended time, related to tissue damage accumulation. These chronic injuries, related to loading exposures we all experience daily, are the focus of this chapter. Chronic injuries are frequent and the largest contributor to years lived with a disability worldwide. How chronic exposures can outpace the recovery process and the role the three risk factors of force, posture, and repetition play in injury development are discussed.
