Integrating Digital Agricultural Platforms to Foster Women’s Financial Resilience in Rural Economies: Case Studies from Developing Countries
摘要
The integration of digital agricultural platforms appears to be a game-changer for rural economies, unlocking new potentials for helping women deal with financial challenges and take a step forward toward establishing gender equality. This study seeks to investigate how women in agricultural production are taking advantage of digital tools like e-marketplaces, blockchain-aided supply chains, and mobile-based extension services among others to enable them to overcome structural and achieve sustainable livelihood. Using case studies from developing countries, the study investigates the role of these platforms in improving market access, enabling financial independence, and mitigating vulnerabilities in rural economies. This study also covers positive scenarios, particularly the case of women-run successful agricultural businesses, where the technologies are used to enhance their productivity, profitability, and overall effectiveness. It also addresses bottlenecks, such as digital literacy gaps, infrastructural limitations, and socio-cultural issues that may prevent women from participating at their fullest. The study centers around the intersection between technology, gender inclusivity, and sustainable development to suggest, with practicalities, otherwise alternative strategies for policymakers, development specialists, and stakeholders who wish to make a difference by empowering women in rural economies. The results of the study are to further the debate on economic sustainability and gender equity on a universal scale, especially where digital agriculture innovations are applied, considering how they work best in lowering structural hurdles to global economic stability.
