Building Sustainable Livelihoods for Women in Agriculture and Rural Economy
摘要
Building sustainable livelihoods for women in agriculture and the rural economy is essential for advancing food security, economic growth, and community resilience. Despite their significant role in agriculture, women often face barriers such as limited access to land, education, resources, and financial services, which prevent them from fully participating in and benefiting from the sector. Addressing these challenges requires gender-responsive policies, capacity-building initiatives, and inclusive financial systems. Sustainable agricultural practices, like agro-ecology and climate-smart farming, can improve productivity while safeguarding the environment. Empowering women with skills, leadership opportunities, and market access enhances their economic resilience and autonomy, enabling them to overcome challenges such as economic shocks and climate change. By adopting a holistic approach that includes education, equitable policies, and community support, women can contribute to and benefit from a more inclusive and sustainable rural economy. In this chapter. We try to find the situation of women in agriculture and the rural economy and develop ways to improve their situation for sustainable development aims. Women in rural areas are more lack of education and their necessary skills can be improved through education and proper guiding. We find out methods how to improve their potential.
