Female Cystectomy: Pelvic Floor and Functional Perioperative Considerations
摘要
While advances in cystectomy have included minimally invasive approaches and continent diversions, advances in the functional, urinary, and sexual outcomes of cystectomy in female patients continue to fall behind. At present, radical cystectomy significantly impacts the quality of life of female patients long-term. The purpose of this overview is to provide perspectives on the perioperative counseling and assessment of patients to better address postoperative issues faced by female patients. This chapter will focus on the underlying anatomy, sexual and urinary sequelae, contemporary approaches to optimize peri-operative outcomes, patient counseling, and managing complications.
