Risk Management in Regenerative Agri-Food Supply Chains Targeting Export Markets

The article addresses the contemporary challenges facing the Ukraine’s agri-food export industries in order to reflect Sustainable Development Goals and respective risks. The COVID-19 pandemic brought significant disruptions to agri-food supply chains, and the Russia-Ukraine war further impacted export-oriented logistics, amplifying risk factors in food and energy markets and leading to considerable price volatility. The ongoing war is severely disrupting Ukraine’s agribusiness, particularly by affecting the timely dispatch of products to export markets. This has prompted the search for new transport routes and market opportunities, highlighting the need to develop modern export-oriented policy, transform government support mechanisms. A regenerative business connects its activities to the natural world, where self-regulation and renewal in nature serve as fundamental guiding principles. Export diversification, which focuses on expanding the range of goods with competitive advantages and stable market positions, is a promising direction. The restricted access of Ukraine's agricultural enterprises to global markets highlights the urgent need for enhanced information and advisory support. Economic and geopolitical risks impacting agricultural producers, processors, and other stakeholders in agri-food supply chains underscore the need to develop competitive strategies that incorporate innovative technologies, financial solutions, regulatory frameworks, and advanced management practices. The seasonal cycles of agricultural exports moving through different channels reflect risks that exporters should consider in their commercial strategies. Regenerative supply chain management offers a solution to strengthen unstable entrepreneurial connections. Both qualitative and quantitative methods, supported by digital technologies, can be employed to evaluate the performance of risk management mechanisms in achieving economic, social, and environmental sustainability goals.
