The Economic Impact of Climate Change on the Citizens of GCC: Risk Perception and Attitudes
摘要
This study examines the potential economic ramifications of climate change for individuals residing in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. This study examines the perceptions of climate change threats among individuals living in these countries and explores the potential impact of their attitudes towards climate change on their economic welfare. The states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are situated in a region that exhibits heightened vulnerability to the impacts of climate change, including rising temperatures, water scarcity, and extreme weather occurrences. The potential outcomes of these factors might result in significant economic ramifications, including a reduction in agricultural output, an escalation in energy use, and the occurrence of infrastructure impairments. The study used a descriptive analytic research methodology, using surveys and secondary data, to examine the economic impact of climate change on residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Through the examination of risk perception and attitudes towards climate change, we get valuable insights into the potential motivations of residents in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states to engage in proactive measures aimed at mitigating the economic consequences associated with climate change. In general, the paper provides valuable insights into the economic ramifications of climate change on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) residents and strategies for motivating individuals to mitigate these consequences. In the paper, traditional values are emphasized, sustainable tourism is encouraged, and diversification is encouraged. Educating the public and integrating technology are important components of water resource management. To navigate the complex landscape of climate change and sustainability, the GCC must leverage both culture and innovation due to its unique position in addressing rapid urbanization, traditional values, and economic challenges.
