Development of Wrinkle Resistant Textiles Using Nanoparticles

Wrinkle-resistant textiles are specially treated fabrics designed to minimize creasing and maintain a smooth appearance. These textiles are commonly used in clothing, bedding, and home furnishings. Classically, two broader techniques are used for the production of wrinkle resistant fabric was formaldehyde base and non-formaldehyde base techniques. In recent era Nanoparticles (NPs) are increasingly being used in the textile industry to create wrinkle-free fabrics due to flexibility, comfort, breathability, environmental concern and no addition in fabric weight. In the recent era fabrics are treated with NPs (TiO2, ZnO and Graphene) by friction, resist deformation and chemical bonding within the fiber. Blending natural fibers (like Cellulose) with synthetic fibers (like Petrochemical) enhances wrinkle resistance. Biased angle fabric methods also contribute to a fabric’s ability to resist wrinkling. Conventionally, consumers follow care instructions; usually involving gentle cycles and cool temperatures, tumble dry on low or hang to dry to minimize wrinkles and hanging garments can help maintain their shape. These textiles are particularly popular in business attire and travel clothing, where a polished look is desired without the hassle of frequent ironing.
