Agriculture is the critical foundation of the economy of developing countries. Due to significant advances in information technology, strategic techniques such as wireless sensor networks (WSN), artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled drones have been integrated into agriculture. This integration has improved efficiency and productivity in modern agriculture while reducing resource use, making the industry more sustainable. All this is possible thanks to the application of precision agriculture (PA). The use of insecure communication methods between smart devices in a PA environment constitutes a significant vulnerability for the ecosystem, making it vulnerable to potential cyber-attacks. The goal of this article is to ensure the protection of data privacy, availability, and integrity in smart PA systems. To achieve this, we discuss several cyber-attacks that can target both smart farms (SF) and PA, as well as the role of authentication, anonymity, and traceability systems in a system context.
